What do you get when you cross GMOs with organic food? A Revolution.

Many people are aware of #GMOs and the risks associated with consuming them, but if you're unsure about what they are exactly or why it is so important to have our food labeled, just do some research. Google it. Inform yourself. If not for your own health, then for the health of your children/future children/future generations. I think eating organic or all natural has somewhat of a negative connotation in our minds, that if you eat organic you either are vegetarian/vegan or you're a health nut. But that's not necessarily the case.

Our food is loaded with addictive and harmful ingredients, which can lead to not only an assortment of physical health issues, but mental health issues as well, such as depression and low self-esteem. Make a change to your eating habits and you'll immediately see a positive change to your life. I know it is a difficult adjustment going from eating the harmful foods the media has shoved down our throats (metaphoricallyand literally), so I don't necessarily suggest going from one extreme to another, because it can become a bit overwhelming and discouraging. Instead, the first thing I suggest to anyone who recognizes the toxins in everyday food and wants to transform their diet is to take baby steps towards their goal. Start by familiarizing yourself with your labels and ingredients. Avoid GMO's, artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, high fructose corn syrup, deadly dyes & food coloring (red 3;40, yellow 5;6, blue 1;2, etc.), and the enormous list of chemicals injected in our food that is slowly but surely destroying us. In time, your body will thank you for it and you'll feel a change. With that positive feeling you'll be more eager to continue replacing processed foods with all natural foods. You'll appreciate the flavors, colors, smells, etc. of fresh food, without a ton of chemicals suppressing their natural benefits. Eventually, you just might want to make the switch out of taste and preference, along with all those great reasons we've said before.

For me, the hardest part about eating organic, or healthy, is the inconvenience of finding and purchasing all natural foods, along with the convenience of eating unhealthy, unnatural foods. Another harsh reality is the price difference between organic and non organic. It can cost anywhere from 10% to over 100% more for organic food. Although there are hidden gems out there, with delicious, affordable, all natural food, our society has made it very, very easy to afford and accept a lifestyle of extremely unhealthy eating. In some cases, it's even easier to justify. There is something really wrong here.

Read your labels. Become aware of all the toxins we're consuming. Make a change. Inspire others to change. We are being lied to and deceived on a global scale, all for profits. If we inform ourselves and the people around us, we will feel inclined to stand our ground and defend the wellbeing of humanity, and we will not tolerate our food conditions. If everyone abandons the current system in place, a new one will have to arise; a better one. We deserve to know what is in the products we consume. A tremendous amount of money is spent lobbying against GMO labeling. Why? If they are so safe, why spend a ridiculous amount of their profits to ensure no laws pass mandating the labeling of genetically modified organisms? "No real social change has ever been brought about without a revolution... revolution is but thought carried into action."

"For a successful revolution it is not enough that there is discontent. What is required is a profound and thorough conviction of the justice, necessity and importance of political and social rights."

"The most important of all revolutions, a revolution in sentiments, manners and moral opinions."

"Methods of thought which claim to give the lead to our world in the name of revolution have become, in reality, ideologies of consent and not of rebellion."

"Personal transformation can and does have global effects. As we go, so goes the world, for the world is us. The revolution that will save the world is ultimately a personal one."

"There doesn't seem to be any other way of creating the next green revolution without GMOs."

Please share, spread the word. We all have a right to know.
